Postmortem analyses conducted at the Kenyatta National Hospital morgue yesterday may unravel the extent of torture slain lawyer Willie Kimani, his client and a taxi driver endured before their deaths. Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor led a team of doctors in conducting the autopsy.
“The postmortem results will be officially released by the Law Society of Kenya,” our sources said. Kimani, his client Josephat Mwenda and taxi driver Joseph Muiruri were found dead at a river in Ol Donyo Sabuk, Kilimambogo area on Friday.
The bodies were transferred from City Mortuary yesterday morning to KNH for autopsy. According to medical sources, the injuries sustained by the trio and physical marks on their necks are consistent with possible strangulation as the actual cause of death.
Investigators also suspect the trio could have been murdered way before their bodies were drowned. However, until last evening, the examination was still ongoing and no results had been released. The exercise lasted for over 11 hours. If need be, our sources intimated, some internal body organs could be submitted to Government Chemist for toxicological test.
