Chief Magistrate Daniel Ogembo.

Three APs accused of killing lawyer Willie Kimani, his client and a driver will be remanded for 14 days to allow police conclude investigations.

Chief Magistrate Daniel Ogembo allowed police the 14 days after an application by Deputy Director of Public Prosecution Nicholas Mutuku requesting for more time to conduct investigations.

According to the DPP, the three policemen — Fredrick ole Leliman, Stephen Cheburet Morogo and Silvia Wanjiku Wanjohi — were arrested on Friday which was not sufficient time for police to conclude investigations.

Police information indicates that Kimani, an advocate of the High Court, was on the material day representing his client Josephat Mwenda in a traffic case and had hired Joseph Muiruri to take them to the Mavoko Law Courts after which they were reported missing.

Their bodies were later found dumped at Athi River near Oldonyo Sabuk in Machakos county on June 30. The court heard that police had obtained crucial information that there were other persons involved in the killing.
