A family in Nakuru has petitioned the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet over the mysterious disappearance of their kin more than a month ago.

Alfred Cheruiyot an employee of Geothermal Development Corporation (GDC) based at Menengai station in Nakuru went missing on May 6. Before he disappeared, Cheruiyot was with his brother Japheth Cheruiyot and cousin Wesley Ng’etich at a bar until 7pm when they went different ways.

He then headed to Mid Rift Club to meet his colleagues, who had reportedly called him. His workmates have been identified in the petition as Leonard Karani, Collins Simiyu, Humphrey Nyongesa and Patrick Wandoi. They have since recorded statements with the police.

“It is now exactly one month and two weeks since Alfred went missing. Despite the search and investigation efforts that have been made so far there is no indication of his whereabouts,” read the petition in parts.

“It is for this reason that the family now petitions you, Inspector General, to intervene and assist the family to resolve this matter.”
