Terrorist-spouse

The wife of an Islamic State (IS) terror group leader Mohammed Abdi Ali, who is linked to planning an anthrax attack in the country, has been charged with being a member of a terrorist group.

Nuseiba Mohammed Haji, also a medical student at Mubende Hospital in Uganda, was further charged with being in possession of articles connected with the commission of a terrorist act.

She faced a third charge of soliciting the commission of a terrorist act. She appeared before trial magistrate Joyce Gandani and denied the charges. The court will rule on whether to release her on bail on June 14.

A warrant of arrest was issued on May 3 for Nuseiba after her husband Ali, who studied at Kampala International University prior to returning to Kenya was arrested on April 29 at Wote County Hospital in Makueni.
