The opposition Coalition for Reforms and Democracy- CORD was on Friday headed for a confrontation with the government and the judiciary after its leaders vowed to defy orders issued by the high court to temporarily stop them from storming IEBC offices pending the hearing of a plea by 5 jubilee legislators.
The ruling by justice Isaac Lenaola was delivered hours after CORD announced the suspension of its protest marches in honour of former first lady Lucy Kibaki in compliance with three days of national mourning announced by the government.
The latest developments happened even as CORD and Jubilee intensified their campaigns to boost their support base with each side seeking a foothold in the opponents strongholds.
