Devolution Cabinet secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri has accused National Super Alliance (Nasa) leaders of re-igniting the debate on shortage of maize flour and land ownership to hoodwink Kenyans into voting for the Opposition.
Kiunjuri, who spoke after flagging off subsidised maize imports and rice donated by the Chinese government at the Port of Mombasa, assured Kenyans that there was enough food in the country that will last until the next harvest.
“When there was maize shortage in the country, the Opposition blamed the government. Now we have brought maize but they are claiming that the government is using it to campaign. This is very irresponsible,” he said.
He urged Kenyans to support the government in its efforts to end hunger in the country. The CS said the 155,000 bags of rice donated by Chinese government will be distributed as relief food across the country.
