A househelp to the late NTV journalist Wambui Kabiru yesterday told the court of how the deceased’s husband Moses Dola sought advice from her prior to the alleged murder.

Eunice Mwangi, 52, told trial judge Roselyn Korir that on April 31, 2011, Dola went home while drunk and asked her how one could solve difference between a husband and a wife. She said she advised her boss to call all their parents and settle their disputes.

She told the court that on May 1, 2011, the accused woke up very early in the morning at 5.30am and left her with the child informing her that the mother had left the house.

Mwangi said she was very shocked to be informed later that Wambui had been killed reportedly by her husband. “I was unaware that the woman had been killed and her body locked in the bedroom.”She said on suspecting something was wrong, informed neighbours who called in the police, adding that prior to the incident the couple had differences.

The case continues on March 7.
