The Government has allocated seven billion shillings for the expansion of infrastructure in all Secondary Schools across the country ahead of the anticipated roll out of the free secondary education in 2018.
education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang, who spoke at the opening of the Secondary Schools heads annual meeting in Mombasa said the money will be used to construct and additional 2,000 classrooms and 1,000 laboratories.
The implementation of the free secondary tuition has become a key campaign agenda with the Jubilee party and opposition outfit NASA engaging in a heated competition over the roll out of the program.
