A 22-year-old man who admitted killing his brother over a glass of water has been sentenced to three years non-custodial probation.
High Court judge Jessie Lissit ordered Collins Obenda Gavalwa to be placed under probation for period of three years without committing any offense.
The accused pleaded for mercy and leniency, saying he accidentally stabbed Frankline Mulweye Gavalwa to death in self-defense after an altercation involving a glass of water on October 11,2016.
Defence lawyer Wakabi Mathenge had urged the court to consider a non-custodial sentence, saying his client did not intend to kill his brother.
