A prime suspect in the killing of three children of his elder brother, Kapsoya ward MCA aspirant James Nyambane, was yesterday charged in Eldoret High Court with three counts of murder.

Enock Onsase, 26, who has been at the Eldoret GK remand prison for the past one-and-half month in connection with the heinous act, denied the charges before Justice Daniel Ogembo.

Onsase, who is said to be the last person seen with the victims before they were reported missing, is accused of committing the alleged crime on May 13 in River Nzoia. The children who have since been buried at their father’s Nyancheki village home in Kisii county, are Clifford Nyambane (seven), Dan Nyamweya (five) and Glen Ongaki (three).

Defence lawyer Ntenga Marubepleaded with the court to free his client on bond pending the hearing and determination of the case, a call the defence was opposed to. Justice Ogembo will rule on the Onsase’s bond plea on July 3 while the case will come up for mention on June 20.
