Hotels in the South coast have recorded booming business with majority being fully booked for the Easter holiday.

Majority of the visitors according to hoteliers are locals from different parts of the country and the East African region including Uganda and Tanzania.

Leisure lodge Resort Public Relations manager Vivian Mtulis said they have chattered a 37-seater plane to fly in visitors from Nairobi for the Easter holiday to ensure they are not inconvenienced.

“This is because of the busy schedule which makes it difficult for people to get a flight. They will be flown in and back after their holiday,” he said.

He said that the just concluded ICT Connected Summit kicked off the Easter holiday well after registering about 90 per cent bed occupancy.

Swahili Beach Resort food and beverage manager Griffin Grinnell said the facility has organised a series of entertaining activities to for the guests.

"Majority of the visitors are locals from Nairobi with availability of seven spacious swimming pools attracting children accompanied by their parents," he said.

At leopard Beach Resort, the hotel is 90 per cent booked for April holiday according to residence manager Joan Ndung’u.

She said they are gearing up to host about 300 guests with 60 per cent of them being domestic tourists while 40 per cent are from the overseas market.
