Kanu has reportedly settled on former NCIC commissioner Lawrence Bomet for the Baringo county governor seat race.
And, in what is seen as a well calculated move to avoid fallout, chairman Gideon Moi, invited a panel of professionals from the county to interview candidates at the Kabarak Guest House. Rev Bomet beat former Government Training Institute (GTI) director Isaac Chebon.
Yesterday, Lembus Council Elders chairman Joseph Leboo and his deputy Joseph Tiongik threw their weight behind Bomet describing him as a man of integrity and a bold leader.
“He (Bomet) comes from a family with strong leadership credentials that stretches back to the days of his grandfather and there is no doubt that he is also a good leader,” Leboo said.
Apart from Bomet, former Knut branch executive secretary Stanley Kiptis will also be looking to unseat Governor Benjamin Cheboi in August 8 poll.
