Presidential aspirant Philip Murgor yesterday called for a national dialogue on what he termed as serious underlying factors regarding the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) which he said is far from being prepared for the August 8 General Election.
The United Democratic Movement flag-bearer said the electoral agency was immersed in many legal, technical and logistical inconsistencies from which it was waffling aimlessly with no prescription on the way forward.
Murgor said IEBC was pretending to be ready the for the polls which are only five months away yet it was entangled in numerous challenges that do not make it possible for it to preside over the elections within set deadlines.
Murgor said there was need for an urgent national dialogue on issues surrounding the operations of IEBC to avert the possibility of mistrust and consequential confrontation and violence.
