The hearing of a case in which former National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) chief executive Richard Kerich and four others are charged with defrauding the institution of more than Sh116.9 million has been adjourned to June 26.
Trial magistrate Lawrence Mugambi of Milimani Anti-Corruption Court directed the case to be heard for three days from June 26 to 29 without any delay. NHIF secretary Lucy Rono is expected to testify in the case.
Earlier, the prosecution led by Senior State Counsel Njagi Nderitu expunged some controversial evidence in the case after the defence protested that they had not been supplied with crucial e-mails which they said are important in the case.
Nderitu accused the defence of trying to delay the case by asking for copies of e-mails and their attachments.
