A mother and a girlfriend to a suspected al-Shabaab member were yesterday charged with failing to disclose information relating to terrorism.
Eunice Wanjiku and Carolyne Muthoni are accused of failing to reveal to security agents that Eric Njoroge alias Mohamed, travelled to Somalia to join the outlawed militia group, which is contary to anti-terror Act of 2012.
Police said Wanjiku, who is the mother to the suspect, told a friend her son had travelled to Somalia to join Al-Shabaab, gave the information to police.
Muthoni, on the other hand, was arrested for not reporting to authorities despite being in constant phone communication with the suspect who is still in Somalia. They were released on a Sh100,000 cash bail each.
