South Mugirango MP Manson Nyamweya has said he worked behind the scenes to try and get the former Constitution and Implementation Commission (CIC) chair Charles Nyachae to contest for Nairobi governor’s seat.
The MP said Nyachae would have been difficult for him to beat had he contested for Kisii county top seat because of the solid backing from his larger Nyaribari clan with more than 100,000 voters.
Addressing delegates from Nyaribari Masaba constituency at Kenya National Congress office on the outskirts of Kisii town, Nyamweya, who is eyeing the governor’s seat, said he was, therefore, relieved when Nyachae opted to go for the senatorial seat.
The MP, who received Nyaribari Masaba Parliamentary aspirant Bernard Moseti, to KNC after ditching ODM, appealed to the electorate to give priority to young people in the polls, saying they have sacrificed their jobs to serve residents.
