Mombasa County Public Service Board is on the spot for the alleged employment of senior officials without due process of the law being followed.

The board has been accused of failing to advertise or carry out interviews for some senior positions in the county government. One of the cases cited has been the appointment of County Inspectorate director Nahidi Musa who is alleged to have attained the mandatory 60-year retirement age.

Respond to comment However, the Chief Executive Harun Mohamed Yussuf declined to comment on the matter saying he was away on leave and he was not in a position to respond.

“Kindly call the chairman of the board because am not in a position, to respond to the question on why he was not vetted by the board,” he said.

Musa’s contract had expired on December 5, this year but it has been renewed again and according to documents seen by the People Daily, the inspectorate boss had written to the board requesting to have his contract renewed.
