Deputy President William Ruto has denied being corrupt and urged the court to dismiss a counter claim by activist Boniface Mwangi.
In reply to Mwangi’s defence counter claim, Ruto says he is entitled to human dignity regardless of the State office he occupies. He denied all allegations against him by Mwangi.
He responded to Mwangi’s affidavit only hours after the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) turned down a request by lawyer Gitobu Imanyara to furnish him with information relating to the DP’s tax returns.
In a letter, KRA Legal Services and Board Coordination commissioner WG Ng’ang’a said some of the items requested by Imanyara on behalf of Mwangi, were not in their custody. “Tax affairs of an individual are confidential under law and the same are held as such.”
