A Machakos court yesterday temporarily lifted an arrest warrant against Machakos Women’s Representative Susan Musyoka, who is accused of making utterances bordering on treason.
Machakos police had secured an arrest warrant after the legislator allegedly defied their summon to record a statement over the remarks made last week.
Senior resident magistrate Irene Kahuya issued the order after Musyoka went to court to seek anticipatory bail. Her lawyer Harun Ndumbi told the court that his client could not present herself to the police for fear of being locked up. The magistrate will rule on the bail terms today.
