The fate of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) chair Philip Kinisu now lies in Parliament after the House received a petition from a Nairobi resident to commence investigations on him.
In his petition, Albert Mokono claims Kinisu is the majority shareholder in a firm alleged to have had irregular dealings with the National Youth Service adding that the matter, under investigation by the Commission, created a conflict of interest.
He wants the House to recommend the removal of Kinisu from office in accordance with Article 251 of the Constitution. Should Parliament find the allegations verifiable, it would recommend to the president to form a tribunal that would lead to Kinisu’s exit from EACC.
