Smaller political parties in the country want the IEBC talks expanded to accommodate other outfits currently  not represented in Parliament.

The parties, under National Political Parties’ Liaison Committee, expressed support to the proposed dialogue on IEBC but warned against restricting the process to only Jubilee and Cord coalitions.

Led by Amani National Coalition executive director Petronila Were, the leaders warned they will move to court to block the initiative if their demands are not met.

“Cord and Jubilee though enjoying the largest representation in Parliament, do not have exclusive constitutional mandate or monopoly of opinion and ideas over the design of the electoral infrastructure and laws in Kenya,” said Were. The leaders were speaking yesterday in a Nairobi hotel where more than 30 political parties were represented.
