The new Geothermal Development Company (GDC)chief executive officer Johnson Ole Nchoe has vowed to clean the tainted image of the company and revitalise its efficiency and ability to deliver on the targets set by government.
Speaking to the People Daily, Nchoe said his tenure will be marked by zero tolerance to corruption and a transformative agenda that will be geared to lowering the cost of power and hence reduce the cost of living and doing business in Kenya.
“My plan entails driving an agenda of zero tolerance to corruption, fast-tracking the delivery of geothermal projects and improving staff productivity. To ensure this is achieved, all procurements will adhere strictly to the stipulations of the new Procurement and Disposal Act, 2015, and all staff and contractors will be duty bound to play by the rules,” he said.
Nchoe, who was appointed last month, joined the company at a time it is fighting off corruption allegations that led to the arrest of the former CEO and suspension of senior officials last year.
