One of the world’s most endangered species that conservationists are keen to protect is the rare black rhino whose population dropped by close to 98% following an upsurge in poaching activities in the 1990’s.
But it is all not lost with the number of black rhinos beginning to rise again following a new approach that empowers communities to participate in wildlife conservation.
Our reporter Laviniah Karanja was at the Sera community conservancy in Samburu and takes us through the experience of tracking the latest addition to the black rhino population that is slowly changing the fortunes of the Northern Kenya tourism circuit.
