KDF RECRUITS

The Administration Police has scattered reporting dates for police recruits. Recruits from Eastern, North Eastern and Coast are supposed to report to the Administration Police Training College (APTC) in Embakasi today while those from Nyanza, Western and Central will report tomorrow.

Those from Rift Valley, Nairobi, NYS and CID recruiting centres have been asked to report on Sunday, according to a statement from the Administration Police Service. “Kindly be informed that the newly appointed recruits will report to our college at APTC Embakasi on the dates indicated against their respective regions of recruitment,” read the notice in part.

APS is expected to admit at least 4,000 recruits for the six month training courses while the regular and General Service Units are expected to absorb and 4,000 and 2,000 respectively. The recruits are among the 10,000 who were recruited to join the National Police Service (NYS).

The rest of the group will report to Kiganjo Police Training College in Nyeri and General Service Unit College in Embakasi. They had all picked their recruitment letters last Friday ahead of the reporting dates. It is not clear what necessitated the change of reporting dates but officials said they feared it would be overwhelming for them to receive all recruits in one day.
