Twelve aspirants have threatened to move to court to block former Registrar of the Judiciary Gladys Boss Shollei from being declared the Jubilee Party Women’s Representative for Uasin Gishu county.
The 12, who lost to Shollei in last week’s nominations, claimed the former Registrar was not qualified to run for public office owing to integrity questions about her tenure in the Judiciary.
They also claimed Shollei was declared winner by the returning officer before all votes had been counted. They claimed the nominations were characterised by vote buying and compromising of election officials. “Voters, agents and election officials were bribed and compromised,” they said in a press statement issued in Eldoret town yesterday.
