Senators once again boycotted this year’s Devolution conference claiming they had been sidelined.
The legislators, who had last week resolved to attend the meeting going on in Meru, changed their minds and declined to adjourn the House for that purpose.
In an informal meeting last Thursday, they had agreed to participate in the conference saying they would use it to take governors to task over use of county funds. But on Tuesday evening they said they would not be party to a conference they had not been involved in planning.
Only senators Daisy Kanaiza, Ziporrah Kittony, Agnes Zani, Ben Njoroge and Godliver Omondi attended.
According the chairman Council of Governors Peter Munya about 6,000 delegates, the 47 senators, governors and members of the National Assembly were invited.
Meru Senator Kiraitu Murungi, said he had not been placed anywhere in the programme despite being the host.
