Busia Senator Amos Wako has differed with Governor Sospeter Ojaamong over the Senate report pushing for prosecution of governors suspected of misappropriating county funds.
Wako, who is also the chairman of Justice and Legal Affairs Committee, said the Senate will not be lenient any more to governors misusing public resources.
Addressing the media in Bukhayo Central after the burial of Martin Kunguru, a prominent Busia politician, the former AG accused the suspected governors of failing to present supporting documents even after getting a chance to do so.
However, Ojaamong accused the Senate of reneging on its duty to defend County governments, instead getting on a warpath with Governors to give Counties a bad name. He added that his government complied with the senators by giving them necessary documents and termed as witch-hunt against him by the Upper House to affect his re-elction bid.
