Donkey owners in the resort town of Naivasha and Nakuru now want the Government to regulate the booming business of buying and selling donkey meat in a bid to curb the escalating theft of the beasts of burden in the area.
The animal owners are calling on Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Dr.Willy Bett to institute an inquest into the supply of donkeys as they claim to be loosing 40 donkeys in a week to middlemen who are accused of stealing and transporting the animals for slaughter.
