Mediamax Network and political leaders and family of a Machakos-based journalist Walter Juma yesterday euologised him as diligent worker. Juma, a correspondent with K24 and the People Daily collapsed and died on Saturday evening in his house in Machakos.
His widow Angela Kola said Juma collapsed as he entered the bathroom and was pronounced dead on arrival at Bishop Urbanus Kioko Hospital. “He complained of difficulties in breathing and had difficulties talking. We rushed him to hospital but he died on the way,” said a colleague Brenda Mwende.
Mediamax head of HR and Administration Annabelle Iraki said the company had lost a dedicated worker. “We will keep Juma’s family in prayers during this trying time. May God rest his soul in eternal peace.”
Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka said, “I received the sad news of the passing on of Juma with shock and disbelief. My heartfelt condolences to the young family as I pray God gives them fortitude to bear this great and shocking loss.”
Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua in a message on his Facebook page described Juma thus: “Walter was swift, respectful and full of dedication whenever called upon. My heartfelt and sincere condolences go out to his family and friends. May God rest his soul in eternal peace.”
