The Labour Court has sentenced Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union officials to one month suspended jail term.
Delivering the ruling Thursday morning, judge Hellen Wasilwa said the officials will start serving the jail term in two weeks time if they fail to call off the strike.
The judge accused the officials of not being law abiding citizens after they skipped contempt of court hearing.
Judge Wasilwa stated that there is no existing Collective Bargaining Agreement registered hence the strike must be called off with immediate effect.
