More than 400 police officers have been promoted to the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police. The National Police Service Commission announced the promotions saying they were long overdue.
The officers who have been in the rank of Superintendent included 220 from the Kenya Police, 96 from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and 94 from the Administration Police (AP).
Smooth operations Among the CID officers promoted included the Personal Assistant to the director of CID Ndegwa Muhoro, Tony Munga who has been moved from SP to SSP.
Others were Joseph Mumira, Isaac Musyoki , John Onyango, Raphael Wawire, Charles Mwangi Kanyuira and Daniel Mueli. NPSC boss Johnston Kavuludi (pictured) said the officers deserved the promotions for their smooth operations.
He said many police officers lag behind in terms of grading as compared to other services and civil servants. He added there will be no confusion in terms of command in their areas of command because they know the tradition and their specialisation.
