Narok Governor Samuel Tunai has moved to court to challenge the move to award a law firm Sh13 million after it successfully represented a county executive for unfair dismissal.
Nakuru deputy registrar Alice Towett directed the county government to pay Gordon Ogolla and Kipkoech Advocates bill of cost in a case they represented county executive for Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock Richard Bwogo.
Through lawyer, Nelson Havi, the county was seeking a stay of orders to bar the law firm from claiming the money until a case they have filed is heard and determined.
Appearing before Justice Stephen Radido, Havi told court that the award is outrageous and the same should be reviewed before it is granted.
“The pay is outrageous and we would want the court to bar the auction of the county property until the case is heard,” he said. The matter was set for mention on October 21.
