Deputy President William Ruto has finally broken his silence over protests by a section of leaders from North-Rift region opposed to the appointment of Prof. Laban Ayiro as the acting vice-chancellor at Moi University.
Addressing journalists on the sidelines of the U.N General Assembly in New York, Ruto castigated the leaders terming their move as reckless and uncalled for. The D.P said the institution was an equal opportunity employer and no one should be discriminated against because of his or her ethnicity.
The D.P defended himself against those questioning the source of his wealth, stating that his achievements were as a result of sheer hardwork and determination.
