The Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) CEO Dr Julius Jwan yesterday said the anticipated new curriculum will make the instructional content light for pupils in pre-primary so that they can have more time to play and build relations amongst themselves.
Dr Jwan spoke yesterday during a stakeholders roundtable organised by World Vision to create awareness about the Early Childhood Development education and also mobilise resources to address some of the challenges the counties are facing to effectively roll-out the programme.
“The new curriculum will have age appropriate content for all learners and in pre-primary, evaluation will not be part of the content. We have come up with a tool that will make these learners assessed based on how they play and they relate and coordinate amongst themselves,” he said.
