President Uhuru Kenyatta will today open the refurbished Nairobi County Assembly, which has been renovated to a tune of Sh150 million. Speaker Alex ole Magelo said everything is in place for members to move into the chamber with 140-seat capacity.
The renovated chamber has been fitted with state-of-the-art systems that will see live streaming of House proceedings, electronic voting, biometric attendance monitoring systems and revamped public gallery.
All the Assembly’s departments have been synchronised and automated for efficient service delivery. Clerk Jacob Ngwele said MCAs will use iPads recently acquired at Sh8.82 million to cut printing costs.
