Tokyo International Conference on African development, TICAD officially begins today.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Chad President Idris Derby at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre.
The Two-day conference is expected to address major issues affecting African continent such as security, decline in commodity prices, poverty reduction, trade,health and education, food security and unemployment.
The first session was addressed by Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, World Bank President Jim Yong, African Union's Dlamini Zuma and the United Nations Development Programme- UNDP administrator Hellen Clark.
