The High Court has directed all the parties claiming ownership of the 134-acre Karen land valued at Sh8 billion to file the relevant evidence by October 4, 2016.
Lady Justice Lucy Gacheru allowed applications by the litigants and the Attorney General (AG) to file affidavits in answer to issues raised in the case by each party. The judge asked lawyers in the case to ensure they furnish each other with documents they will rely on in court in their bid to prove ownership.
Muchanga Investments Limited through its lawyer Cecil Miller has obtained an order blocking other companies and individuals from interfering with the land.
“Let all the parties ensure they have filed all the necessary documents before October 4 when the case will come up for further directions,” said Justice Gacheru.
